Close Quarters
Indispensable so you can defend your territory in lane. Your territory = cover under/around bridge, among troopers. Be proactive!
Grit
Shield item component, useful enough panic/clutch button in lane.
Extra Spirit
in the short term we're buying this mainly for Ult + Poison cuz dagger is shoddy before T3
3damage scaling

Boundless Spirit
Built from Improved Spirit
big central chunky damage upgrade (vyper has big spirit scaling numbers)
Infuser
Theoretically: Pop this at like 3-4 dagger stacks to give you sustain and damage while you stay to kill the target.
Escalating Exposure
Next step for scaling our dagger damage. Stalker proc lets us stack this a little faster (every 1s instead of every 1.4s if only using dagger).

Arctic Blast
Spirit Burn
Mystic Reverb
The damage this adds to our FIRST dagger is pathetic, but the slow and spirit lifesteal are hefty and the damage it adds to the 5th or so dagger is nice.
7Rambleoptional
Author's category · 1 items · I (Dynamo main) am not good enough at Vyper in general so I'm still coming to terms with the extent to which she has to be either In There (being hyper aggressive) or Out, with very little in-between. E.g. in lane trying to hang back won't work (you'll get lit up trying to clear wave), you HAVE to take an aggressive position (among all the cover next the wave) and punish people who approach (while still dodging their nukes). Your "territory" range is very small (but you have very strong tools within that territory) and you need to establish your territory aggressively to control important things (cover, troopers). You are a viper; you hide in a den and strike punishingly at people who approach, or you slither sneakily through cover to approach a target. You absolutely do not live life out in the open, because you can not afford to let someone else have the first move.

Improved Spirit
Built from Extra Spirit
we get ult around here (and value points in Ult and Venom); look for injured people who will blow up if you Ult + Venom them
Sprint Boots
sprint boots + stalker = sneak up on people by walking (sneakily, quickly)
Weapon Shielding
Built from Grit
Rapid Recharge
RR + T3 Dagger = now you have broader kill threat (not just injured people)
Veil Walker
Mystic Slow
stacks very nicely with dagger slow
Spirit Shielding
Built from Grit
Scourge
Helpful for both general teamfight contribution (swimming in enemies or putting it on an ally that swims in enemies) and for stacking EE much more quickly.
Spellbreaker
Witchmail
Plated Armor
Debuff Reducer
Extra Health
being squishy is bad
Unstoppable
Built from Debuff Reducer
Fortitude
Built from Extra Health
keeps you healthy so you can pick fights a lot (also big bump to health pool here from Fortitude + 4.8k)
Tankbuster
Worthwhile buy by late game (I mean it's based on max HP and ignores resists). Consider buying greens instead though?
Mercurial Magnum
Burst Fire
Fleetfoot
Radiant Regeneration
Superior Cooldown
I want this so our ult and dagger pile refresh quickly but it could be that their cooldowns are already low enough that this is a sub-optimal buy!! Not sure.
Stalker
sneaky feet + slightly faster EE buildup + 1.5 movespeed in the fight + highlighting target...
Lightning Scroll
Built from Mystic Slow
makes bola targets stunned for another 0.75s after bola ends, which might help your allies follow up smoothly. Super low priority but might be better than Trans Cooldown for this build...
Transcendent Cooldown
Built from Superior Cooldown
Mainly just lowers reverb cooldown and I don't think that's enough justification. Buy greens instead!! Durability is good.
