The left most rows are your left to right and make for a really solid build. Don't forget you can right click any item to queue them up and easily access their components when they're not written in the build. Don't sleep on optional items! If you're looking for builds on the browser and reading anotations, you're already well on your way to learn how to itemise. They're not that scary, throw knockdowns at random people and you'll get the hang of it. Don't forget to type GLHF and GGWP <3
1Early game
Game stage · 6 items · Our 4.8k Spirit Spike can be Cold Front, Suppresor or Mystic Slow.
High-Velocity Rounds
Bullet Velocity is extremely important on Celeste. With Light Eater active, our bullets are our primary source of damage and sustain. This also makes last hitting much most consistent.
Extra Regen
Provides great lane value even when you aren't out of combat. Upgrades into Healing Booster later which will enhance our Light Eater and our Spiritual Overflow further.
Mystic Regeneration
Component of Radiant Regeneration. You don't have to buy it right away if you don't need the health. If you're confident you'll be able to save 1.6k, but not 3.2k, get Suppressor first.
2Additional Lane Options / Early Countersoptional
Author's category · 5 items · GLHF
Healing Rite
So powerful you can fully substitute it over Extra Regen. (Although this sets you back on Healing Booster) With 4.8k spirit and healing booster this item completely nullifies damage of double sinners.
Grit
Use this to go for decisive trades in lane. I much prefer Healing Rite over this item when I know I'll make it out of the fight alive due to the additional health it provides.
3Troll Buy
Author's category · 1 items
Golden Goose Egg
We never want to buy this item no matter how "AFK" our lane is because the downsides are too severe. This item is really selfish because it removes our ability to teamfight or gank effectively.
4Mid game
Game stage · 6 items · Our first 3 Late items will have no build paths. try to save 6.4k
Restorative Locket
Extremely powerful burst of healing and the stamina allows you to keep flying above the fight longer. The ability to use it on command makes it amazing to escape a bad situation.
Healbane
Anti-Healing is really powerful, provides a base +7 Spirit as a bonus and the Heal on kill is really good as it allows to stay in the fight longer or keep pushing waves without needing to reset.
5Important Counter Buysoptional
Author's category · 5 items · I Love Counterspell!
Counterspell
I love this item and buy it every game. At this stage of the game however, we're looking to purchase a lot of 6.4k items who do not have build paths. If you have 6.4k, buy from the Late section first.
Dispel Magic
Very strong active with a low enough cooldown to be used once every fight, but once again also delays our important late items.
6Decent Buy
Author's category · 1 items
Rebuttal
Rebuttal will always be a decent item, but is extremely matchup dependant. If they're light meleeing a lot, parrying by anticipation has much better risk/reward with this item.
7Late game
Game stage · 6 items · Slot Locked: Replace Cold Front > Restorative Locket > Healbane
Witchmail
As it stands, our Dazzling Trick (2)'s cooldown starts as soon as the ability is used as opposed to when the shield breaks. This makes it really easy to keep re-applying our shield mid fight.
Spellslinger
This item is necessary to scale into the late game. The Fire Rate and Reload Speed allow us to have 100% upkeep on our Light Eater targets as ammo is no longer the limiting factor in fights.
8Hard Counters / Luxuryoptional
Author's category · 5 items · sometimes I meow
Transcendent Cooldown
25% Cooldown Reduction on our abilities isn't that valuable because of Witchmail. However if you start purchasing a lot of active items or passives with long cooldowns, this becomes highly valuable.
Scourge
Very strong aura item against high HP targets. It does require us however to put ourselves way out of position to get it's full value requiring us to invest more into tankiness.
9Items That Didn't Make The Cutoptional
Author's category · 12 items · They're here to be accessible!
Quicksilver Reload
Our "Reloading" item niche is already covered by Spellslinger. This item ends up being redundant and will need to be sold, but can be useful if you can't afford Spellslinger before an important fight.
Mystic Slow
Alternative to Suppresor. Not as universally strong but this upgrades into Lightning Scroll which is very strong with max level ult + Refresher. This doesn't cover Slowing Hex cases either.
Categories appear in the author's order. Only the editor's default Early, Mid and Late sections are marked as game stages; the author's own categories keep their names. “Built from” links come from the game's item recipes.

Radiant Regeneration
Built from Mystic Regeneration
Main Survivability Item. Very easy to stack the healing per second with Light Eater, Bullets or Torment Pulse. Staying in the fight longer means casting more abilities and more healing on cast.
Suppressor
Gives us our 4.8k spirit spike. Can be replaced by either Mystic Slow or Cold Front depending on the matchup. This item is good because it triggers in 1 hit unlike Escalating Resilience/Toxic Bullets.
Extra Stamina
Component of Stamina Mastery and the 2nd 800 souls item needed for our 4.8k green spike. Celeste has an innate movement passive, so anything that enhances movement is really powerful.
Reactive Barrier
Built from Grit
Upgrades from Grit and upgrades into Indomitable. Great Counter to characters who want to all in after hitting an important ability like Haze, Bebop or Abrams
Opening Rounds
Built from High-Velocity Rounds
Upgrades from High-Velocity Rounds which we will never until ultra late game. Provides great stats for the extra 800 souls. I wouldn't buy this until our 4.8k green spike if possible.
Slowing Hex
Cheap and really powerful counter items against characters like Calico, Apollo or Wraith I personally only buy this when I'm ready to roam for guaranteed kills. (Aproximatively post Torment Pulse)
Torment Pulse
Procs our Healbane, Radiant Regeneration and eventually our Escalating Exposure which is really powerful. At this stage, this does approximatively a 33%+ DPS increase only using Light Eater.
Healing Booster
Built from Extra Regen
Boosts the effectiveness of our Light Eater, Healbane, Counterspell, Dispel Magic, Spiritual overflow, Healing Rite, Restorative Locket,. VERY strong item for a 1.6k (800 if you went Extra Regen)
Stamina Mastery
Built from Extra Stamina
Use this to fly above the team fight with the extra air dash and air jump and throw abilities at your feet. Stamina Recovery is great since you'll often find yourself at 0 stamina after a team fight.
Greater Expansion
Useful on all our abilities, but especially our Radiant Daggers as we start looking for large team fights around objectives at this stage of the game. It's component, Mystic Expansion can be used on 1
Debuff Reducer
Component of Unstoppable which can be an ok buy if you have unsecured souls you want to spend. Great purchase early against characters trying to combo into a heavy melee like Venator or Abrams.
Metal Skin
Amazing active item against gun carries. That being said, appart from things like a Haze ult or being stuck in a Dynamo/Mo & Krill ult, our movement is often enough to stop gun carries.
Spirit Resilience
Never buy this item before Witchmail. If you press tab and it looks like 4+ characters are building primarily spirit damage, consider buying this.
Spiritual Overflow
All the stats provided by this item are highly valuable on Celeste. Builds up in 3 shots and makes our gun do even crazier damage on Light Eater targets. Not as mandatory an item as Spellslinger.
Escalating Exposure
Can easily provide up to 100% Spirit Amp in extended fights, but is countered by cleansing abilities.
Boundless Spirit
Another massive increase to our DPS, but almost always not necessary as tank items that allow us to stay in the fight longer are usually more valuable than raw damage.
Refresher
Extremely good with max level ult, consider combining this with Lightning Scroll. Extremely rare the game goes this late anyway so low data.
Indomitable
Built from Reactive Barrier
Great late game counter item against teams with few important telegraphed CC abilities. Upgrades from Reactive Barrier if you needed it and are slot locked.
Unstoppable
Built from Debuff Reducer
With a barrier that silences and counter spell I don't find this to be often necessary. This is obviously good against enemies like Lash who's win condition are 1 massive ult late game to end the game
Spellbreaker
Built from Debuff Reducer
Very match-up specific. Notably really powerful and basically the only Counter to Kinetic Carbine.
Cold Front
Another 1.6k spirit item to get our 4.8k. Much more of a counter item than Suppresor. This is notably very useful to deal with Graves' skulls. Strong movement slow, bad against movement abilities.
Rapid Recharge
Doesn't fit into our build. It's component, Extra Charge, is a great early buy when leveling Radiant Daggers 1st or 2nd. In this current patch, we care much more about having our shield early.
Knockdown
This item is great, but you're rarely going to want it over Slowing Hex. There may be a window in a game where your enemy fliers don't yet have Counterspell / Dispel Magic and you can use this.
Lightning Scroll
Built from Mystic Slow
Great in combination with Refresher, but that's basically it. Our ult already takes target out of the fight by forcing them to split up. They'll be stunned already behind cover and not worth chasing.
Active Reload
Same Reasoning as Quicksilver Reload. No immediate need for a Reloading item. Only provides us with a few more bullets per fight before needing to actually reload.
Spirit Shredder
This item is really good, but can't fit into our build. Going 4.8k gun on Celeste is viable, if you want to buy this you'd have to replace Torment Pulse and combine with Swift Striker.
Swift Striker
Read Spirit Shredder Bullets. Strong option to get 4.8k gun spike if you want.
Bullet Resilience
Basically no reason to purchase this over Metal Skin. We deal with gun damage by making it difficult to aim at us and forcing enemies to shoot somewhere else.
Divine Barrier
Divine Barrier is a great item, but this build requires us to be more selfish with our item choices in the late game. Optimally someone else on your team purchases this. You can get this over Dispel.
Ethereal Shift
Ethereal Shift is really strong if you know how to use it properly, but we are likely slot locked when reaching this stage of the game using our build. Consider buying over Boundless Spirit.
